To do:
- · Research Left 4 Dead Level Designs. How they utilise the mechanics and make each campaign different
- · Research Mexico/ Texas and what type of environment would be expected.
- · Analyse the mechanics and there uses
- Create a small storyline for both the environment and reason for characters to be there.
- Unique features of the map (Special Infected Zombie/Music Theory)
- Create 2D level Design which shows…
· Start and finish of game
· Scenery unique to level
· Vaguelly show where individual random spawns may occur- mainly for
items. Amount of times it would occur, the situation the player needs to be in.
Percentage amount.
· Spawn areas of the special infected in general
Possible spawning areas of Witches and Tanks
· Horde Alarms (if any)
· Game Events (if any)
If multi-player – create where special infected
can move and go along walls.
· Time/Health Zone Areas. Random Spawn Mechanic is
influenced by this. It low on health at some point in level, in next stage
depending on health, will give you an item.
- · Then in Sketch-Up, design this collection of stuff in block 3D buildings. This also shows what the 2D level shows.
- · Then creating the final Level Design Document. Describing in full detail percentage what ive detailed down in the 2D level.
(Don’t need to draw any imagery when it comes to special infected or weaponry, already obtained)
